Obituary: A look back at the life of Davy Jones

Davy Jones, the British-born lead singer of the Monkees, who became a massive star in the United States in the 1960s has died at the age of 66.

The Monkees had nine major hits and they were initially formed to star in a US television show becoming equally popular on British screens.
