Arts organisations to apply for funding in cuts shake-up

The way the arts are funded in England is about to be transformed. Theatres, ballet companies and orchestras across the country, from small local companies to the Royal Opera House, will have to make a case for receiving public money, for the first time. They will need to renew their applications every few years.
