Third of children 'not reaching expectations'

Analysis by Save the Children suggests that in 2020 more than 800,000 children will be at risk of starting school behind their peers in areas like literacy and numeracy.

Kayte Lawton, head of UK Policy at Save the Children, tells Radio 4's Today that while a third of children do not meet government expectations, that proportion increases to half of children who live in poverty.
