Uni students 'face £50k debts'

Graduates could leave English universities with debts of more than £50,000 each when fees are increased next year, according to a new survey.

Average debts may reach £53,000 for UK students starting in 2012, double the figure for 2011, the annual survey suggests.

The Push university guide spoke to nearly 3,000 students, and said average annual debts had risen 6.4% in the past year - more than inflation - to £5,680.
