Musicians Union: 'No-touch rule protects music teachers'

The Education Secretary Michael Gove has criticised guidance to music teachers after they were advised not to touch pupils during music lessons.

The Musicians' Union have issued the advice saying touching pupils could expose music tutors, who often teach in one-to-one sessions, to charges of inappropriate behaviour.

Diane Widdison, from the Musicians Union explained why they had felt the need to issue the advice to their members.
