Housebuilder: Small builders 'face a wall of bureaucracy'

One of Britain's top housebuilders has rejected accusations of land hoarding by the industry, and dismissed the government's white paper on housing as "a bit disappointing".

Steve Morgan, founder and chairman of Redrow, told the Today programme the biggest brake on provision of new houses was the planning system.

He said: "If I was starting today, I wouldn't be able to build up a Redrow."
