What will a US rate rise mean for India?

In the wake of the financial crisis of 2008, interest rates were cut globally to boost growth.

But now the US Federal Reserve is looking certain to raise interest rates for the first time since the crash.

It will be a sign of growing confidence in the US recovery. While any rate increase will be small, and subsequent rises are likely to be gradual too, it will still have knock-on effects.

So what will the impact be in India?
