UK farmers launch livestock auction website

A new auction website which allows farmers to buy and sell livestock online has been launched in the UK.

"Sell My Livestock", which works in a similar way to eBay, aims to mirror the success of similar sites in the US.

Cattle farmer and site co-founder Dan Luff told BBC Radio 5 live's Adam Parsons he hoped the system would save him and other farmers money.

"Livestock auctions will always have their place within the farming community. We're just offering farmers a modern alternative," he told the programme.
