Harman and Hewitt 'did not try' to expel PIE

Harriet Harman and Patricia Hewitt "didn't try" to expel the Paedophile Information Exchange (PIE) from a civil rights group because their careers "depended on them not rocking the boat", PIE founder Tom O'Carroll has said.

Ms Harman, Labour's deputy leader, was legal officer at the National Council for Civil Liberties during the 1970s.

The BBC's Tom Bateman reports.

First broadcast on BBC Radio 4's Today programme on Wednesday 26 February.
