Children's TV loan ads stopped a year ago, body claims

A group of MPs has called for payday loan advertising to be banned on children's TV.

A report by the Business Select Committee said the commercials could be seen by children as "fun and easy".

Richard Griffiths from the Consumer Finance Association, which represents some payday loan companies, said their members had already stopped the practice.

He told BBC Radio 5 live's Wake Up to Money: "We recognised over a year ago... the adverts are not relevant or necessarily appropriate for children."
