HMRC head: Tax collection 'fair'

The head of HMRC has dismissed claims that they are chasing smaller rather than big businesses for owed tax.

A report by the Public Accounts Committee said that HMRC seemed to "lose its nerve" when pursuing multinational companies for owed tax,

However Lin Homer, the Chief Executive of HMRC, told BBC Radio 5 live's Victoria Derbyshire: "We're taking a fair amount of tax from all taxpayers - regardless of size - and that's what parliament in this country expects us to do."
