Campaigners urge Co-op customers to stick with bank

The campaign group Save Our Bank is calling for the Co-operative Bank to retain its ethical values, and for customers not to leave.

It was launched prior to the Paul Flowers scandal when it was revealed that US hedge funds would be taking a stake in the troubled bank.

The campaign's co-founder Rob Harrison told BBC Radio 5 live's Wake Up to Money: "It's become world leading as an example of how you can run a bank... and because of that it had attracted hundreds of thousands of people."

He added, "They know that they can't simply strip away all the ethics and still retain a business that make them money."
