Somali views: Barclays ends cash transfers over terror fears

Millions of Somalis who rely on cash sent from abroad will find access to this money cut off from Monday.

The Central Bank of Somalia estimates that more than $1.5bn is sent to the country each year.

However, Barclays Bank is pulling out of its relationships with remittance firms over concerns the cash could be funding terror groups such as al-Shabab.
