Npower boss announces fewer tariffs after confusing bills
Npower has announced it will reduce the number of tariffs offered from 21 to four, citing customers' confusion at complicated bills.
Speaking on BBC Breakfast, chief executive Paul Massara also admitted "We've got to raise our game" after performing badly on customer satisfaction surveys.
Challenged on why people were facing increasing energy prices while firms reported higher profits, Mr Massara said, "The reality is, in 2009, 10 and 11 we lost money in the retail market in the UK. In 2012 we made about 3, 3.5% margin - that's three pence in every pound - that's not very much."
