Hinkley 'a milestone' to decarbonisation - Ed Davey

The Energy Secretary Ed Davey has granted planning permission for a new nuclear power station at Hinkley in Somerset.

French energy company EDF had sought approval for their plans for a new £14bn plant capable of providing electricity for five million homes.

Mr Davey said the project was a "milestone" on the road to decarbonising electricity supply and the economy.
