Ikea 'regrets' use of forced labour in East Germany

Ikea says it "deeply regrets" the use of political prisoners as forced labour in communist East Germany by some of its suppliers.

A study carried out for Ikea by accountants Ernst & Young suggests that Ikea representatives at the time knew that political prisoners were possibly used.

Former political prisoners of the Stasi who say they worked on furniture for the the Swedish giant may not expect compensation.
