French unemployment rises above three million

Unemployment in France has risen above the three million mark for the first time since 1999.

The official numbers are not yet announced, but the labour minister told a radio programme on Wednesday that they would show a 16th month of rises, blaming the previous government for the increase.

Hugh Schofield reports.
