Clegg: Planning changes will help economy grow

The government is to ease the rules covering building extensions in England as part of a range of new measures to help the construction industry.

For a limited period of a year, homeowners will be allowed to extend their property without full planning permission.

The Deputy Prime Minister, Nick Clegg, said the measures would help the wider economy.
