Glencore and Xstrata's 'formidable' mining merger
The commodities trader Glencore and the Swiss miner Xstrata have confirmed a $90bn merger.
It will be headed up by Xstrata's chief executive, Mick Davis, with Glencore's CEO Ivan Glasenberg to be his deputy.
Rupert Nathan is head of funds management at the stock market research firm Fat Prophets.
He told BBC World's Sally Bundock why the two companies can benefit.
