Unemployment rises to 2.68 million

UK unemployment rose by 118,000 in the three months to November to 2.685 million, official figures show.

The under 25s have been hardest hit with more than a million out of work, the highest figure since records began.

The government admits the jobless figure is a "major concern", but says the reality is more complex than it appears.

Nick Robinson reports.
