Holidays 4 UK goes into administration

A tour operator with more than 12,000 UK holidaymakers currently abroad has gone into administration.

Brighton-based Holidays 4 UK, which also traded as Aegean flights, Accommodation Overseas and Holiday Beds sold packages and flights to Turkey.

The company has 18 employees, an annual turnover of about £35 million and was licensed to carry more than 100,000 passengers a year.

Simon Calder, travel editor of The Independent, said those abroad at the moment "should not worry".
