AT&T and T-Mobile create biggest US firm in $39bn deal

Deutsche Telekom has sold T-Mobile USA to rival AT&T for $39bn, creating the largest US wireless network. The deal sent Deutsche Telekom shares surging.

They opened 16.3% higher - a record jump - and closed 11% up. In New York, AT&T shares gained 1.3%. The deal still needs approval from regulators
