Used car importers under pressure in Russia

Vladivostok is a major centre of Russia's car industry. Though hardly any cars get manufactured here.

The city is famous for its brisk trade in second hand Japanese cars.

Two years ago, government plans to drastically increase import tariffs on these vehicles led to protests in Vladivostok.

To compensate for the effects of the restrictions on imports the government promised to create new jobs in the auto industry.

Tanya Beckett investigates whether Vladivostok's car trade has managed to turn the corner.
