Government appoints long-term unemployment 'champion'

Thousands of children in the UK grow up in families where neither parent has ever worked. Many of those young people go on to a life of unemployment themselves.

Now the government is launching an scheme in England directly aimed at breaking that cycle within out-of-work families. Emma Harrison runs a jobs training agency and has been appointed to head up the project.
