OBR to predict stronger UK economic growth
Economic growth in the UK may be stronger than originally thought, the Office for Budget Responsibility (OBR) is expected to announce.
The OBR, an independent body set up by the government to analyse the economy, is due to release its latest forecast on Monday. It is expected to increase its GDP growth estimate for the whole year from the 1.2% predicted in June to nearer 1.7%, the Ernst and Young ITEM Club forecasting group said.
Initial estimates published last month suggest the economy grew by 0.8% between July and September - twice the rate expected by many analysts.
