British manufacturing output rate picks up
British manufacturing activity picked up pace last month for the first time since March, a survey showed on Monday.
It reinforces expectations that the Bank of England will hold off on injecting more stimulus into the economy.
Meanwhile a survey by the employers group, the CBI, shows that small manufacturers expect to ramp up production during the final quarter of the year on the back of rising demand.
Russel Griggs, chairman of the CBI's SME council says the rise in production is expected to be driven by improving domestic and overseas demand.
