Airbus calls for talks with rival Boeing

The European plane-maker Airbus is calling for 'peace talks' with its American rival Boeing, following the latest development in their trade dispute.

The World Trade Organisation is releasing a confidential report which, it is believed, will accuse Boeing of receiving billions of dollars worth of illegal subsidies.

The decade old dispute between the two rivals leaves the market open to fast rising plane manufacturers if they are unable to agree a settlement.

Brian Milligan reports.
