EU growth forecast for 2010 revised upward

The European economy is expected to have grown more quickly than predicted after "particularly strong" growth in the second quarter.

The European Commission says it now expects growth in 2010 of 1.8% across the Union, up from an earlier estimate of 1%, despite the Greek debt crisis earlier in the year.
