'Awful' smoke from Coity, Bridgend woodchip blaze

A fire which broke out at a wood recycling plant in Bridgend on Monday is still burning.

About 2,000 tonnes of woodchip has been alight at South Wales Wood Recycling in Coity, since 03:30 BST on Monday.

The cause of the blaze is not yet know, but the company said the "circumstances were suspicious".

In light of the fire, the firm said it was withdrawing an application to open a new plant in South Cornelly.

Patricia MacArthur, who lives nearby, says the smoke has affected her home.
