Elon Musk: Apple car is an 'open secret'

Tesla's founder says that it is an "open secret" that Apple is developing a rival electric car of its own.

In an exclusive interview with the BBC, Elon Musk said the iPhone-maker had hired more than a thousand automobile engineers, but added that he did not view the company as a threat.

Mr Musk invited BBC's technology correspondent Rory Cellan-Jones to his design studio near Los Angeles and began by explaining what he hoped his car firm would achieve.
