New sign on French menus

A new sign is appearing on French restaurant menus telling customers whether or not the food is home-made.

The Fait Maison logo has been introduced to make it easier for consumers to see if the dish they have chosen has been home-made in the restaurant's kitchen.

A French survey suggested that barely half of restaurant meals were home-made and that people had lost faith in the standards of French cuisine as a result,
