Thousands expected at Royal Manx Agricultural Show

The annual Royal Manx Agricultural Show has opened, with thousands of visitors expected to attend across the next two days.

More than 20,000 people attended the farming celebration in 2012,

President of the show Brian Caley said: "It's one of the biggest events on the Isle of Man, the farmers put on a really great show."

The show at Knockaloe Farm in Patrick, near Peel will see traditional livestock competitions and over 140 stands on a 19 acre (7 hectare) site.
