The rising numbers of elderly poor in Asia

A pressing concern for governments across Asia is how to support their fast-growing ageing population.

Many of the region's working poor have nothing to fall back on after they retire.

The problem is most starkly seen in China, where 30 years of its "one child" policy has led to one child supporting two parents and four grandparents.

Donghyun Park from the Asian Development Bank, told Sharanjit Leyl more about what is needed across Asia.

He started with promising news, saying that China's patchwork of pension schemes have come a long way.
