Several US banks have decided to end services for diplomats

Foreign diplomats have complained to the US government about the decision of several US banks to end services for diplomatic missions.

The BBC's Barbara Plett said the cost of monitoring the inflow of funds to the accounts had become too expensive.

Regulations have been tightened since 9/11 in an effort to disturb the financing of crime and terrorism.
