Chinese companies in IPO rush

One of China's biggest life insurers kicks off its initial public offering roadshow today.

New China Life reportedly plans to raise up to $3bn via a dual listing in both Hong Kong and Shanghai.

Offerings are also expected from telecoms company PCCW, Hong Kong jeweller Chow Tai Fook and luxury goods brand Coach by the end of the year.

To take a look at what is causing the listings rush, the BBC's Sharanjit Leyl has been speaking to Philippe Espinasse, an independent consultant and "author of, "IPO: a Global Guide."
