Malaysia's industrialisation threatens rainforests


With Malaysia's Borneo rainforests already under pressure from palm oil plantations, they are now facing a new threat from the country's growing industrialisation.

As the country continues efforts to boost its economy and levels of employment, it is moving ahead with plans to build more steel and aluminium plants, chemical works and factories.

As Mark Williams reports from East Malaysia, the government says it cannot wait for rich benefactors to preserve the rainforests.
