Coma fear over Jersey stolen medicines

Burglars in Jersey have stolen medicines which could induce a coma.

Police say a large amount of drugs for people with diabetes was taken during a break-in at a property in Rouge Bouillon, St Helier.

They say if the Pioglitazone, Glicazide or Metmorfin tablets are taken by a non-diabetic person, low blood sugar could lead to a coma.

Police are urging anyone with information about the burglary on Friday afternoon to contact them.
