Three people, believed to have been potential witnesses to a fatal attack in Wiltshire, have contacted police.

Adrian Cooksey, 50, from Trowbridge, died after being assaulted near a taxi rank in Melksham last March.

A week ago, officers appealed for help in tracing three cars and a man filmed on CCTV, who were thought to have been in the area at the time of the attack.

The man and two drivers have come forward. Last year, Thomas Minshull, of Melksham, was cleared of manslaughter.

Officers 'grateful'

Police relaunched the investigation following a review.

Det Sgt Rob Findlay said: "Wiltshire Police are grateful to the man pictured in the CCTV and the drivers of two cars who we have spoken to.

"These people were all potential witnesses and have come forward to offer their help.

"We continue to check all witnesses to ensure there is no new information no matter how unimportant people might think it is.

"It is important that individuals let us be the judge of what is and is not important."
