Bournemouth shop worker attacked in robbery

A man who was struck over the head during a robbery in Bournemouth has escaped serious injury.

The 28-year-old staff member from Hazel Supermarket in Northbourne, was hit with a blunt instrument after refusing to hand over cash at 1620 BST on Thursday.

He was taken to hospital and treated for a head wound.

The two male attackers ran off empty handed towards Pine Wood Road. Dorset Police are appealing for witnesses.

Both robbers are white, one was wearing light-coloured trousers, a blue T-shirt and a black and white baseball cap.

The other man was wearing green combat trousers, a green shirt and a white baseball cap.
