Donor search for Leicester leukaemia girl

The family of a seven-year-old girl who is seriously ill with leukaemia are hoping to find a bone marrow donor match for her at an event in Leicester.

Eve Kelly, from Humberstone, was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukaemia in May.

Her family were told a transplant is her only option as previous treatment for a rare kidney cancer left her body less able to handle chemotherapy.

Potential donors were being tested at St Joseph's Primary School, Leicester.

The Anthony Nolan Trust was checking people by means of saliva samples.

Eve is currently in hospital in Nottingham.
