A 28-year-old man has appeared in court after two men were assaulted in Camelon, near Falkirk.

Barry Wilson, from Bainsford, made no plea or declaration and was remanded in custody.

He is accused of attacking the men near the Beefeater restaurant on Tuesday afternoon.

Central Scotland Police said a 41-year-old man involved in the incident remained in a critical condition in hospital.

Detectives have also appealed for information about two men who were seen acting suspiciously near the Copper Top pub shortly before the attack.

Roads in the Camelon area were shut for six hours following Tuesday's incident.

Det Insp Hugh Louden, of Falkirk CID, said: "We appeal for anyone who saw a disturbance near the Beefeater restaurant to contact us.

"We also appeal for anyone who was in the area of the Copper Top and who saw two men acting suspiciously near cars parked outside to come forward."
