Chelmsford college roof fall boy had 'lucky escape'

A 12-year-old boy who fell from the roof of a college in Essex had a "lucky escape" from more serious injuries, ambulance chiefs said.

The boy fell from St Peter's College in Fox Crescent, Chelmsford, on Sunday.

He was treated in hospital for chest and spinal injuries but was discharged from hospital on Monday.

An East of England Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: "He suffered severe bruising but no breaks whatsoever, so had a very lucky escape."
