Repair work on A1067 Norwich to Fakenham road to start

Major work is to start to repair the A1067 Norwich to Fakenham road, which was damaged during the winter.

Work will start on Drayton High Road, Hellesdon, on 19 July and should finish in early September.

Two weeks later, work will start on strengthening and resurfacing the road at Lenwade and Great Witchingham.

The work, costing £411,000, will last for seven weeks and will include lengthy road closures, Norfolk County Council said.

A council spokesman said: "This essential maintenance is being carried out almost entirely during the school holiday to reduce its impact, but serious disruption is inevitable.

"Norfolk County Council apologises for the inconvenience these essential maintenance schemes will cause."
