Sex assault on Folkestone beach in Kent

A woman in her late teens has been seriously sexually assaulted on a beach in Folkestone.

Kent Police said the victim was followed on to the beach by a man near the Sunny Sands area of the town at 0130 BST on 1 July.

Detectives want to speak to a couple who were sitting around a campfire and went to the woman's aid.

The suspect, who was wearing green camouflage trousers, ran away along Wear Bay Road.
