Police name two men killed in Bitteswell road crash

Police investigating a fatal crash in Leicestershire have identified the two men who died.

The accident, involving one vehicle, happened on Ashby Lane, Bittesewell, at about 0145 BST on Monday.

The driver, Paul Herald, 28, and one of the rear passengers, Kane Slater, 20, both from Claybrooke Magna, Leicestershire, died at the scene.

The two other occupants of the BMW 320 saloon remain in the Leicester Royal Infirmary for treatment, police said.

The road was closed for about 10 hours following the accident.

Det Con Samm Emmett said: "The BMW was travelling towards Ashby Parva before it left the road.

"We are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident or saw the car prior to the collision. Please get in touch with any information you may have."
