Third person charged over fatal Maidenhead fire

A third person has been charged with killing a woman who died in a suspected arson attack in Berkshire.

Saimah Ali, 23, was at a family event when the fire started at the property in Moor Lane, Maidenhead, on 25 June.

An 18-year-old man, from Slough, has been charged by police with murder and arson with intent to endanger life.

He is due to appear in court in Slough later. Two teenagers have already been charged in connection with the fire.

Smoke inhalation

A 17-year-old girl, who cannot be named because of her age, and 19-year-old Amaar Najib were charged with murder and arson with intent to endanger life.

They will appear at Reading Crown Court in a preliminary hearing on 16 July.

Two other people, aged 16 and 19, who were held on suspicion of murder, have been bailed.

A post-mortem examination found Ms Ali died from the effects of breathing in smoke.
