In pictures: Hunt for Tyneside gunman Raoul Moat
Armed police are searching north-east England for a man newly released from prison who they believe shot his ex-girlfriend, killed her new partner, and injured a police officer on Tyneside.
Raoul Moat, from Newcastle, was released from a Durham jail on 1 July, having served a sentence for assault.
Police believe the fatal attack on Chris Brown, pictured here, was motivated by a "grudge".
Moat's ex-girlfriend Samantha Stobbart appealed to him via the police, saying: "Please give yourself up. When you came out of jail I told you I was seeing a police officer. I said this because I was frightened. I have not been seeing a police officer."
CCTV images of Raoul Moat released by police show him in a Newcastle shop on Friday, 2 July, the day after he was released from prison. He was wearing an orange T-shirt, dark jeans and white trainers.
Police released details of a car connected to the suspect. A black Lexus IS200 SE was later discovered in the town of Rothbury, Northumberland.
A campsite where Moat had pitched a tent was found near to where the Lexus was discovered. Also found was an eight-page handwritten letter from Moat to Miss Stobbart.
People in Rothbury had been advised by police to stay indoors, but a cordon around the town was later relaxed.
All vehicles leaving Rothbury were subject to checks by armed officers.
Police marksmen were positioned in locations around Rothbury as the search for him continued.
A man police described as an associate of Moat was led through woods and into Wagtail Farm near Rothbury. Police said the man, who was wearing a flak jacket, was helping them identify areas where Moat may have been hiding.
Images of camping equipment believed to have been used by Raoul Moat have been released by police. The duvet, tent and sleeping bag were found in a secluded area on land at Wagtail Farm, on the outskirts of Rothbury.
