Boy, 12, injured in fall from Essex college roof
A 12-year-old boy is being treated in hospital for chest and spinal injuries after falling from the roof of a college in Essex.
The ambulance service was called to St Peter's College in Fox Crescent, Chelmsford, on Sunday afternoon.
"A rapid response vehicle was on scene in about four minutes," an ambulance service spokeswoman said.
The boy was on a high roof ledge so firefighters and ambulance staff used an access platform to reach him.
"The boy was strapped to a long board and brought back down to the ground using a cradle," the spokeswoman said.
"He was assessed at the scene to have chest and spinal injuries before being taken to Broomfield Hospital for further care."
No details of his current condition were given.
