Killer targets Sri Lanka's homeless people


Police in Sri Lanka are investigating a total of seven murders of homeless people, hawkers and beggars in the past few weeks.

The murder methods have been particularly violent, as the victims were crushed with rocks or beaten with poles as they slept.

Lawyer Lakshan Dias told the BBC it could not be the work of an ''ordinary citizen'' or ''fellow beggar''.
