Tribute to Salford house party death man

The family of a man who died following a disturbance at a house party in Salford has paid tribute to him.

Simon Kelly, 33, was admitted to Salford Royal hospital with severe head injuries in the early hours of Sunday.

He had been hurt earlier outside houses on Agecroft Road. A 17-year-old boy is being held on suspicion of murder.

In a statement his family said: "Simon was a kind, fun-loving person. Nobody should die so young and we will miss him."

Detectives initially arrested two boys, both aged 17, but one has since been released. No action will be taken against him.

A post-mortem examination confirmed that Mr Kelly, of Swinton, died from a head injury.
